PREVIEW: Both teams enter this game with identical 2-2 records, each having secured wins just a week ago. Huntington Beach narrowly clinched their victory last Friday, thanks to Zack James’ crucial deflection during a Redondo Union 2-point conversion attempt, securing a 13-12 win against the Seahawks.

On the opposing side, the Marina Vikings are riding high after a convincing 42-32 win over Redlands. They’re eager to maintain their momentum as they face off against their arch-rivals, the Huntington Beach Oilers. The last time Marina defeated the Oilers was in 2019, coincidentally the same year they clinched the CIFSS D11 Championship. Notably, Marina begins this season with a fresh head coach, Charlie TeGantvoort, formerly of Santa Ana, who brings a deep understanding of the Oilers to the table.

PREDICTION: Marina knocks off the Oilers in a close one 28-24 to bring the victory trophy back to Springdale Street at Marina High School.
