PREVIEW:
Big Ten play opens Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette as the undefeated USC Trojans (2–0) travel to Indiana to take on the unbeaten Purdue Boilermakers (2–0) in a nationally televised matchup on CBS.

USC has looked unstoppable through the first two weeks. The Trojans rolled past Georgia Southern 59–20 last weekend, piling up 755 yards of total offense — their most in a game since at least 2000. Quarterback Jayden Maiava was surgical, completing 16-of-24 passes for 412 yards and four touchdowns. His top two targets, Makai Lemon and Jakobi Lane, torched the defense for a combined 249 yards and three scores. On the ground, Waymond Jordan added balance to the attack, rushing 16 times for 167 yards.

Purdue has quietly put together a strong start of its own. The Boilermakers defeated Southern Illinois 34–17 last week behind quarterback Ryan Browne, who went 14-of-23 for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Devin Mockobee provided the spark on the ground with 126 rushing yards and two scores, showcasing the balance that makes Purdue dangerous at home.

This matchup features two teams with momentum, but USC’s offensive firepower will be tested against a Purdue team eager to prove it belongs in the Big Ten spotlight.

JP’s Prediction: USC flexes its offensive muscle again and cruises to a 42–14 victory to move to 3–0.
