ARLINGTON, TX — For the second straight night at Globe Life Field, the top-ranked UCLA Bruins made a statement. This time it was quicker, louder, and ended early.

The Bruins exploded for 11 runs on 14 hits and cruised to an 11-1 mercy-rule victory over No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday night, handing the Aggies their first loss of the 2026 season in just seven innings at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series.

UCLA improves to 8-2. Texas A&M drops to 9-1.

Michael Barnett set the tone on the mound and the Bruins’ bats never cooled off.

Barnett (3-0) delivered five dominant innings, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out four and walking three. The lone blemish came in the second when Jake Duer took him deep for a solo shot to right-center (404 feet). After that, the right-hander retired 11 of the final 12 batters he faced.

Reliever Wylan Moss slammed the door with two perfect innings of relief, striking out three and allowing just one hit.

The Bruins added two more in the second on Martin’s two-run single up the middle that plated Will Gasparino and Dominic Cadiz.

After Texas A&M’s lone run in the second, UCLA tacked on one more in the fifth when West delivered an RBI single to score Cadiz, pushing the lead to 7-1.

Then came the sixth — the inning that ended any drama.

Levu and Martin reached base again, Brennan ripped a two-run double, and Gasparino stepped to the plate and crushed a three-run rocket to left-center (427 feet) that made it 11-1 and triggered the 10-run rule.

Gasparino finished 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. Brennan drove in three. Martin was a perfect 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs, and two RBI. Levu went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. West was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Cadiz added two hits and two runs.

The Bruins pounded out 14 hits total while committing zero errors. Texas A&M managed just two hits all night and committed one.

For the second consecutive night in Arlington, #1 UCLA looked every bit the part of the nation’s best team — explosive offense, lockdown pitching, and zero mercy for ranked competition.

The Bruins will go for the series sweep Sunday afternoon against No. 4 Mississippi State. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m. PT.
