LAWNDALE, CA- Under the stars on a flawless yet breezy night at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA, the Edison Chargers displayed their dominance against the Leuzinger Olympians in a Week 1 clash of the 2023 CIFSS Football season. The Chargers put on a masterclass performance that culminated in an impressive shutout victory.

Right from the kickoff, Edison’s defense exhibited their readiness, setting the tone for the game. The Chargers’ Jared Schnoor pounced on a mishandled Leuzinger snap in the end zone, giving Edison an early 7-0 lead. This swift defensive play showcased the Chargers’ determination to control the game.

In the second quarter, Edison’s offense found their rhythm. Savelio Niumata’s well-placed pass to Jacob Martin set up the Chargers nicely for a field goal. The successful kick extended Edison’s lead to 10-0, setting the tone for a strong first half performance.

The third quarter saw the Chargers’ quarterback, Savelio, take matters into his own hands. With a determined rush, he scored a 4-yard touchdown on the ground, further solidifying Edison’s advantage at 17-0. The Chargers demonstrated their balanced approach, excelling on both offense and defense.

On September 8th at 7pm, Edison will hit the road to face Palos Verdes, ready to carry the momentum from this impressive victory into the upcoming games.
