PREVIEW:
Week 6 in the 3C2A kicks off Thursday night in Menifee as the Saddleback Bobcats (4-1) return from their bye week to face the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (3-2) in a key National Southern League matchup. Both teams are fighting to keep pace in the playoff race and come in with plenty of offensive firepower.

Saddleback enters fresh off a commanding 54-14 win over Chaffey, their fourth straight victory. Quarterback Tyler Dudden was efficient, going 13-of-23 for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Nicky Johnson added 25 yards through the air. The ground game was balanced with Kavaughn Clark (38 yards), Jaylen Beverly-Rushing (28 yards, TD), and Tyler Dudden (31 yards) all contributing. Defensively, the Bobcats swarmed all night — Roman Hardin grabbed an interception, while Ali’i Letuli, Landon Hodges, and Charles Ebuzeme each recorded sacks to help anchor a unit that’s allowed just 17 points per game during their win streak.

Mt. San Jacinto looks to bounce back after a hard-fought 31-27 loss to El Camino. Quarterback Cole Vasquez led the offense with 153 passing yards, a touchdown, and 103 rushing yards with another score. Jackson Weng caught six passes for 96 yards, while Dante Sams added a 48-yard touchdown grab. On defense, Eddie Smith led the Eagles with 15 total tackles, and Carlos Gallegos and Ifeanyi Onye each added sacks to keep El Camino’s offense in check.

Expect a physical battle between two teams that mirror each other in toughness and tempo. The Bobcats’ depth and defensive consistency could prove the difference against a resilient Mt. San Jacinto squad looking to protect home turf.
