RANKINGS: Santa Margarita Holds No. 1 After Dominant Win Over JSerra, as El Modena and Newport Harbor Enter JPWest Media’s Week 10 CIFSS Top 25

The regular season finale arrives this week with league titles and playoff positioning still on the line. Santa Margarita remains the clear No. 1 after a decisive win over JSerra. Sierra Canyon stays undefeated with a blowout. At the bottom of the poll, El Modena and Newport Harbor both enter after strong results, while the bubble stays tight between Crespi, San Jacinto, and Dana Hills.

The statement
Santa Margarita (8-0) beat JSerra 36-12 and stayed put. The Eagles controlled the game and kept their perfect record intact heading into the final week of the regular season.
Sierra Canyon (8-0) rolled Notre Dame (SO) 63-6 and holds at No. 2. The Trailblazers’ offense continues to be one of the most productive in the section.
St. John Bosco (7-1) handled Servite 54-7 and stays at No. 3. Mater Dei (6-2) defeated Orange Lutheran 52-38 and holds at No. 4. Centennial (7-1) beat Chaparral 41-27 and remains at No. 5.

Climbers
El Modena (8-1) enters at No. 24 after a 21-19 win over Dana Hills. The head-to-head victory over a previously ranked team was enough to put the Vanguards in the poll with one week left in the regular season.
Newport Harbor (7-2) enters at No. 25 after a 34-7 win over Brea Olinda. The Sailors’ result over Brea, which ranks higher on MaxPreps than other bubble opponents, plus a slight edge on the Southern Section computer rankings, put them in the final spot.
Huntington Beach (9-0) holds at No. 15 after a 37-22 win over Troy. The Oilers stayed perfect in Delta League play.
Norco and Orange each move up after convincing league wins.

The drop
Notre Dame (SO) drops to No. 23 after the 63-6 loss to Sierra Canyon. The Knights remain in the poll based on their earlier body of work, including the win over Crespi.
San Clemente falls after a 16-0 loss to San Juan Hills. Corona del Mar drops after a 31-17 loss to Crean Lutheran. Servite slides after the loss to St. John Bosco.

Off the board
Dana Hills falls out after the loss to El Modena. The true bubble teams just outside the Top 25 are Crespi (8-1), San Jacinto (8-1), and Dana Hills (7-2). Crespi’s only loss remains the early 31-24 result to Notre Dame (SO), and their continued strong play keeps them firmly in the conversation. The gap between Newport Harbor and Crespi was minimal this week, decided by the quality of Newport’s win over Brea Olinda and the slight MaxPreps edge.
