WEEK PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS: Week 5 CIFSS and CCCAA Football Week 4

San Juan Hills @ El Modena

Thursday 9/21 7PM

Fred Kelly Stadium

PREVIEW: San Juan Hills is seeking revenge and aiming to maintain their undefeated season as they face El Modena, a team that handed them a home loss last season. This year, the Stallions have a new quarterback in Timmy Herr leading the charge.

On the other hand, El Modena, despite an impressive 11-1 season last year, is facing some challenges this season, entering tonight’s game with a 2-2 record.

PREDICTION: San Juan Hills 42 El Modena 7

Corona Del Mar @ Trabuco Hills

Friday 9/22 7PM

Trabuco Hills HS

NFHS Network

PREVIEW: Corona Del Mar enters Friday’s game with a 2-2 record after a bye week, but they did face a tough San Clemente team two weeks ago. The Sea Kings are eager to bounce back from that loss as they take on a formidable Trabuco Hills Mustangs team. We last saw the Mustangs in action against Huntington Beach a few weeks ago, where they jumped to a commanding 21-0 lead in the first quarter, thanks to stellar performances by Taylor Bowie and Ryan Luce.

However, Trabuco Hills is coming off a significant loss just last week to Tustin, so they’ll be determined to rebound against a solid Corona Del Mar defense led by Christian Brooks and Thomas Telesco.

PREDICTION: Corona Del Mar 31 Trabuco Hills 21

Saddleback @ Southwestern

Saturday 9/23 6PM

Southwestern College

PREVIEW: Last week, Saddleback secured their first win of the season at home, putting an end to their two-game losing streak against Antelope Valley. Brandon Berwald, who started for the Bobcats, shared quarterback duties with Trey Kukuk, both impressively passing for over 100 yards in that game. Additionally, Saddleback’s ground game was on fire with Manassero, Burak, and Pierce combining for over 200 rushing yards. Now it is still unclear who will start at Quarterback this week but we still could see Head Coach Kerry Crabb keep the 2 Quarterback system in this one.

The Bobcats’ defense also made significant plays, including a remarkable one-handed interception by Michael D’Amato.

Meanwhile, Southwestern is struggling this season, entering Saturday’s game with a 0-3 record. They’re eager to bounce back and seek revenge from last season when they suffered a 47-13 loss to the Bobcats. Southwestern’s recent losses to El Camino, San Bernardino Valley, and Long Beach City have added to their determination to turn things around.

PREDICTION: Saddleback 65 Southwestern 7
