MISSION VIEJO, CA- The JPWest Media crew headed down south tonight as the 2-1 Newport Harbor Sailors took on the 3-0 Capo Valley Cougars on the campus of Capo Valley HS.
1st Quarter: Newport Harbor’s special teams started the game off strong kicking the ball and having it land on the one yard giving Capo Valley a tough field position to start the game, but it was Capo Valley faking a punt on a 40 yard return putting the Cougars back in excellent field position kicking a field goal making it 3-0 to start the game. Newport’s Colton Joseph would respond right back on a pass to Kashton Henjum. Going into the 2nd up 7-3.

4th Quarter; Newport needed to get something going quickly and fix the 3rd Quarter mistakes as Colton Joseph would find Kashton Henjum wide open for the touchdown. However, Capo Valley would respond right back with a huge touchdown putting them right back in it 28-25. Newport Harbor’s defense would end up saving the day for the Sailors as time expired the Sailors come up with a huge sack to finish off the game.
