HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA- From Millikan HS to Cap Sheue Field tonight on the campus of Huntington Beach HS, the Oilers took on Santa Ana and JW North in their preseason scrimmage.

With a little bit of a different format than what we saw last night with Edison vs Millikan’s 3 Quarter Scrimmage. It allowed each team to get 10 plays on offense, 10 plays on defense against both teams.

Starting it off was JW North’s Offense against the Oilers Defense, JW North got things started with a 5 yard passing touchdown.

Next up went to the Oilers Offense bringing out Vaughn Popp and co. Vaughn was able to connect to AJ Vandermade on a 70 yard touchdown against Santa Ana, Oilers offense then got to go again and it was no different Vaughn threw a short pass to AJ leading Vandermade to his 2nd touchdown of the night.

Vandermade who only played 4 games last season due to injury is ready for a huge senior year. He showed it once again as the Oilers Offense went back out on a beautiful throw from Daunte Bell to connect with AJ Vandermade then the duo would later connect again for the score against JW North.

Oilers look ready to go as they head on the road to Lakewood at Mayfair HS next Friday night at 7pm.
